I believe this would cause more congestion and offer less spaces for shoppers to park.

I don't think it is a good idea to parallel park in downtown Fredericktown!!! That would take away to many valuable parking spaces.

There are so many other projects for the Council to be working on: grants to help pay for infrastructure, clear up the zoning laws and enforce them, get consistent way-finding signs, get new business and industry in our area

Keep angle parking.

There is no advantage to lparallel parking on Main Street and multiple disadvantages; fewer spots, increased slowing of traffic, shopper inconvenience of parking further from shops.

I remember several months back and numerous occasions since then how awesome it was to come through town and struggle finding a parking spot. It shows progress in revitalizing our downtown. It shows the quality of the businesses we have. I cannot process how it would benefit our community members or our businesses by making this change. Often changes like this only benefit very few and not the overall good of the community. We already have a hard enough time keeping our local folks local. Don’t make it worse.

This is a horrible idea! More spaces, not less! Parallel parking, up hill, in the winter will be nearly impossible when plowed snow in the parking spaces turns to ice. Perhaps changing traffic light patterns to slow traffic coming up and down the hill would be a safer option.

Parallel parking would keep people from parking close to businesses and would also limit the number of spaces available for patrons of those businesses. If we at trying to improve down town businesses this would only serve to do the opposite.

Downtown business owner who believes taking away half our parking spots would greatly hurt our business. In addition, I believe people parallel parking on the busy state route would be very inconvenient at the very least. I would rather see the speed limit better inforced and perhaps more signage to warn about people backing out of current parking spots.

Changing the current parking to parallel parking is a horrible idea. Not only will it greatly reduce the number of parking spots currently available (which will adversely affect the businesses on that block), but another concern I have is that some of the big rig trucks often come gunning through (especially as they try to accommodate the uphill grade), and they (when going that fast) are not going to be able to stop on a dime to allow someone to parallel park. Not to mention the fact that most people I have talked to about "parallel parking" hate the idea in general - if for no other reason, they are simply not very good at it, or at least not comfortable attempting it. (A few people even indicated that it might deter them from doing business on main street should the parking change). So, all in all, I believe it is a very bad idea.

Parallel parking is a bad idea, those businesses need parking to be convenient for their customers or they will lose business.

We at Taste of Country DO NOT want parallel parking. I don't see any advantage to changing the parking and I have safety concerns should it be changed. I believe wholeheartedly that this change would be a great detriment to my business and it would encourage customers to go elsewhere.

I think there is more priorities that the village of Fredericktown can work on instead of making the parking worse on main st.

Finding a parking place is difficult enough on main street. Parallel parking would make it worse in my view. Limit pickup trucks to off-main parking only. The long bed and crewcab pickup trucks are the problem with visibility. Yes, I own one but I don't park on the street for safety reasons.

As business owners for 4+ years on Main Street, we already have trouble with enough spaces. Doing this will hurt businesses further by forcing people to walk further which will pith em off from shopping Main Street. Please reconsider this move.
