Franklinton Advocacy Alert! STOP McDowell St. Church DEMOLITION

There are historic buildings in Franklinton the oldest section of Columbus. This is an important part of its history. Be creative incorporating into its future. People will appreciate it.

Adaptive reuse will make the fabric of our community more interesting as well as creating a human scale to the environment unlike the many computer designed four and five story buildings being constructed throughout the borders of Columbus' downtown.

I would like that this build be left in place and adapted to a new use. Over the last seven years, hasn't the city become better homogenous in its appearance. What has happened is an outbreak of developer modern buildings. Adapting this building gives your firm a chance to have a stand out component, to be different, and become sought after. Do the right thing and be hailed hero's. Tear it down, and there is nothing that seperates your development from anyone elses.

City and neighborhood history is a valuable asset. Preserve what you can.

Let the beautiful old church stay, please.

Please save our historic structures. The Church at 79 McDowell St is a treasure and a landmark in Franklinton. There is nothing green or "smart" about demolishing an historic structure.

Please, please! Preserve our historic buildings. None of what is being built today has the beauty, the majesty or the grace that people will want to keep looking at it 100 years from now. Re-purpose these buildings so we can still enjoy them for years yet to come.

I remember the church. It's a shame they want to tear down history

Too many people are all too eager to teardown wonderful old buildings to make the big bucks from condos and fancy apartment buildings.

Being from the bottoms (franklinton) I can admire some of the change but destroying its history and pushing people out just to expand and accommodate downtown is ridiculous. Its shows little care for our city.

We can do better!

Don't be idiots and replace an awesome historic priceless structure with cardboard boxes for future broken homes.

The Bottoms have SO FEW significant historic building to call their own - THIS would be a true tragedy in a city that continues to display no pride in its heritage. Please STOP this from happening!

We demolish so carelessly, there will be more places to survive in that places to live in.
