Opposed to changing start times for many of the above reasons. Most importantly to me is that there hasn’t been any research done at the elementary level to support this change.

As a parent of an elementary school
Child who struggles to get enough sleep, I feel the start time will have a negative impact on him. More importantly, I believe the study leaves a large Question mark for our most vulnerable students- those I. Middle school. These student WILL NOT want to attend solutions! Working parents will have to go to work and leave their middle grade student home alone. I’m concerned of the impact that will have on tardiness abs absenteeism.

My son required to do lung therapy every single day in the morning. I already wake him up at 6:40am every day to be ready for 8:30am for school. He will be exhausted if I wake him up earlier to be ready for the new proposal time. I'm full time work mom. I can't change my schedule. I can't go out of work early that's mean he will had to stay longer at after school programs. I don't think so will be a positive change for us.

We work full time and have long commutes. By the time we get home at 615, I barely have time to make dinner, then we eat, and it's off to bed for the kids. That means we see them for less than 2 hours each night. If they make school earlier they will need to go to bed earlier in order to get the sleep they need. I wouldn't have enough minutes to cook, get them fed, bathed, and in bed on time. Their sleep and health are more important than this new agenda being pushed on us.

Absolutely against changing the start times. Doesn’t make any sense. So many families will be impacted. Why fix when it is not brken.

Older kids need to get out before the little ones so they can babysit after school - so many families need this! It’s up to the parents to make sure their kids go to bed at an appropriate time to get enough rest. Please don’t change school start times.

Please no. There is no need to do this. There is no true benefit to such schedule change, Especially considering the amount of change in family schedules required if this takes place. We need to stop and prevent this schedule change.

High school kids need to get out early for sports and other extra curricular activities. If they get out later, they would start missing school and not have a wide variety of activities for their college applications.

This change would negatively impact our family financially with increased costs in child care in the morning as well as in the afternoon. I would like an opportunity to vote on this issue... not have it decided by 4 people.
