If more sleep is the goal, those affected are not seeing it that way. They look at it as more reason to stay up later.

I disagree with the proposed time changes. I feel they will create an undue burden for families.

I believe that the currently proposed changes raise many more concerns than they address and have the potential to cause some families harm both potentially financially and in family stability and within the family relationships. I believe that the school board is doing a disservice to our community by voting on this matter without further research and adjustment of the plans that could address some of the important concerns that it raises.

I'm opposed to the proposed start time of the elementary school. My gurls require their rest and would compromise their schedule.

I am against the school times changing and the ripple effect it will have on after school activities but mostly the financial burden it will place on so many families in our community.

It doesn’t make sense to change elementary school timings to accommodate HS students.Little kids end up in after school program for more time with proposed changes.

This makes no sense. The older kids will just stay up later because they don’t have to get up as early. The younger kids will have to get babysitters for when they would be home alone. Makes no sense. And, getting rid of certain sports (swim for one) that the kids work so hard for. Nope. Do not change the start times. Adults have to wake up early to go to work. Teenagers can wake up early to go to school (their work).

Changing these start times will negatively impact afterschool enrichment and sport opportunities offered for all three of my children, as well as cause my family financial impactsbecause of the overwhelming increase in childcare costs that we will incur. The Solutions program is going to increase rates due to the influx of too many children to the program. Sports programs will be lost that provide children social, physical and educational benefits that carry through to their adult years.
The school committee clearly has their own agenda and cannot be trusted with the choices regarding the welfare of the Town's children.

I understand the sleep study and the benefits this change MAY have on SOME high school students. However, the negative implications for working families and the younger students are too many to ignore. Both my husband and I work full time and we have a son in Kindergarten as well as a 10 month old. My Kindergartner’s days are already TOO long with school and then Solutions, he needs some down time and playtime, he is only 5. These proposed changes would just make the days even longer for kids like him and I don’t think there is a positive spin to that. Some of the best time I have with my kids is in the morning before work and this change would also take that away. When I filled out the survey, I don’t think I knew about all the ramifications it would have on my family both financially and logistically. In hindsight, I would have filled it out differently.

Don't see how all the negatives this introduces (to many to list here) outweighs the 45 minutes of getting up later helps. could always go to bed 45 min earlier. Town people should be listened to on this, the committee needs to listen, most people don't want this.

Changing start times would negatively impact too many families. There is not enough research or infrastructure to support these changes. These drastic changes would be equivalent to changing a community's culture as it impacts a family's means of earning an income and financially supporting our family's, providing adequate care for our children, family time, and our children's social structure. This is not a change that can be voted on and incorporated over the course of a year. Too many supports must be put in place first if this change is to be made to benefit high schoolers. It may benefit them in some ways, but at what expense?

I don't agree for changing the start timings for little one (elementary) and it's strange that this committee completely Ignored elementary kids.

Losing after school activities like clubs & athletics is detrimental to our students.
