This petition is against the closure of the Franklin Shelter until the District has secured shelter bedding in downtown, DC for the 300 plus men who the District is seeking to move out without \"the promised\" housing in the downtown or placement in 400 apartments under the Permanent Supportive Housing plan. Your vote calls for the DC Government to be accountable to all its citizens irregardless of class, and to keep its promises and deliver services and housing to the homeless that has been promised.
I am honestly stunned to see 250 people have signed this. This is entirely your doing and seeing this level of care for our neighbors is truly humbling.

The city keeps moving these people around like they dont matter. keep it open until there is actually somewhere for them to go.

Empty promises again. Fix the housing first then close the shelter. Simple as that.

Franklin shelter is a lifeline. Keeping it open is the only humane choice right now.

WHERE ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO GO?? Stop closing stuff before you have the new spots ready. Common sense.
