My Dad and My uncle grew up in Redwood Falls and enjoyed the game of golf back when it was much more affordable in their early years (30's, 40's, 50's). It always brought me great joy when we would make an occasional trip over to Fort Ridgley’s Golf Course to play a round of golf with my dad and uncle. Back then the green were sand. It was not only affordable, but it was an atmosphere where a below, below average golfer could feel comfortable without holding up other members. Some things are worth keeping within our state. My guess is that there are other former golf players who find the course as inviting as my family once did. My pledge is to play the course at least once a year with my son if it stays open. Please choose to keep it open and allow a resurgence to take place around the course. Thanks, Mark Trefry 507-530-1202

The DNR has done an outstanding job of managing our Natural Resources. This process and decision, is inconsistent with previous DNR philosophy and approaches. Who/What has changed the High Standards as previously held by this agency?

After recently spending two million to renovate the golf course it seems absurd to shut it down. Please keep it open and seek creative ways to make it financially sustainable. It's a gem.

The golf course is such an unique piece in a wonderful state park. I have many fond memories there from camping to learning how to play golf. If you bump the cost up to match most nine hole fees and allow carts you can increase interest with the capability to play a quicker round or go 18.
