Please please do not close the golf course and/or the park!! If you want to save money quit putting millions of walkeyes into lakes that net them right back out!!!

This part speaks to a huge part of sounthern minnesotas heritage. To close it would be a shame, and violation of the duties of the DNR.

Give the public a chance to help raise money. There is plenty of habitat in the MN River Valley; the golf course does not need to be converted back as more habitat. There is only one gem like this and it is so special and worth keeping as a golf course. Maybe contract with the Mayflower to help manage it? Maybe it could be a beneficiary in someone's will someday. Give it a chance to be saved at least. Think outside the box on how it can be funded. We fund new sporting centers with tax payer dollars and legislation. Maybe some special legislation could help on preserving this course and the history of it.

Plenty of family time, including reunions of extended fam,at Fort Ridgely, and for decades. The golf course is a highlight of the park, and there are always family members who want to make this part of the visit. A real tradition in the Park! Please don't close it!!
