Just NO! This is a very special place close to the hearts of so many in the area and without it, our children and the generations to come will not have the chance to experience something that is so beautiful! It brings us all so much closer to nature and gives us opportunities that, I'm afraid, so many children don't get to enjoy. Isn't part of the purpose of our state park to bring us closer to nature, so we can appreciate it and indulge ourselves in all it has to offer, while also learning to respect and take care of it so that we can have the privilege to be a part of it!? Without it, our youth will be deprived of learning not only the history tied to Fort Ridgley but the beauty and nature that surrounds it!

It's hard to believe that just 8 years after the state invested $2,000,000 into upgrading this course they now want to invest more money into tearing it all down. A complete waste of our tax dollars. Save this golf course.

Shame to whom ever thinks that closing this treasured part of Fort Ridgely down is the way out before exploring other alternative and viable options to keep it ALIVE!

Time spent at Fort Ridgely is a fantastic childhood memory of mine. My Dad and Uncle Jim always spent numerous Sundays in the summer golfing at Fort Ridgely. Myself and my cousins Mark and Mike were too young to golf but but we walked along and always managed to fund a pocketful of golfballs. We also had a number of memorable picnics there. I still remember hole #3 as a steep uphill grade. Seemed like such a huge hill when we were kids. Fort Ridgely is a wonderful place and must not be allowed to close. Makes no sense to complete all these improvements and then close the place.

This golf course is in great condition and a favorite destination for many locals, and even to many who are not so close. It is where many kids learn the game golfing with dad and grandpa. If the course closes, it may very well be the end of this gem of a park. The course itself was built in 1927. It must remain open!

I grew up a few miles from Fort Ridgely, it would be a total shame to close this unique part of the park! Please reconsider!

My father used to work at this State Park and golf course 45 years ago. I have golfed on the sand greens, the turf greens and now the beautiful grass greens. We have also camped there every year for 15 years and golfed while we are camping. We love the campground and course because it is all about nature, isn't commercialized. It makes no sense to make the improvements and now close it down, it is a beautiful park by the Minnesota River Valley.
Please consider the people that live here and enjoy it.

It would be a shame to close this golf course. Do not throw 90 years away. Running a golf course may not be part of the new DNR mission but grandfather in this golf course!
