Why did the members of this committee waste everyone's time by holding a public vote when they were going to disregard it and pick who they wanted anyway. Pretty embarrassing for the members of this committee, and as a resident of Fort Dodge it is very disappointing as a whole.

Josh's artwork is truly superior!!! The politics of hiring an Australian for the publicity is ludicrous as well as allowing the citizens to vote and not choosing the "peoples choice". Those involved should be ashamed of themselves.

When I compare the two pieces of art talked about, Johnson's clearly represents Fort Dodge. When you look at the image you can locate the places and your own memories tied to each place. Rather then unknown faces from an unknown or rather non-local artist.

Absolutely ridiculous that a local guy supporting everything about Ft. Dodge gets kicked in the face and out voted for something that doesn't even have a dang thing to do with Ft. Dodge... City council needs to support local ....Practice what you preach....Shop local and SUPPORT LOCAL!!!

With so many residents in our area experiencing the long-lasting effects of the exportation of our jobs, how could exporting this amazingly significant work be - in any way shape or form - the best decision for our community. There was not a consensus on this matter, and many will be affected by it for a significant amount of time. Please do reconsider the decision to import our art when we have amazing home-grown Dodger artists right here at home. Thank you.

Unfortunately like many decisions our WONDERFUL city leaders, planners etc have made this one falls into the category of "CHOOSE SOMEONE THAT IS FROM FOREIGN COUNTRY"!! Seriously let's show or future leaders of Fort Dodge how to TAKE PRIDE IN OUR HOMETOWN!! We need to go with the one that TRULY DEPICTS what Fort Dodge WAS,IS AND WILL BE...NOT THE DIRTY DODGE THE REST OF THE STATE CALLS US!!

I think the local artists picture is the best! Hands down! A lot of people don't know what the design on the FDPD is, and that's a shame! Let's not do that again! I drive past the silos every day and I think his picture would be beautiful!
