Formal Objection to Proposed Development at 41-49 and 49-59 Battersea Park Road (Ref: APP/H5960/W/24/3358065)

Against student accommodation. Area would benefit from more housing.

The development adds further pressure to creaking infrastructure and is unnecessary.

Sewage will be blocked everyday if this project goes ahead! Smell will be unbearable. Noise levels from uni students and cars will be annoying. Cars and roads will be blocked.

As a resident of the Viridian building next-door, I strongly oppose these plans.

This development would completely rob me of all sunlight and make my flat a dark cave. The height is excessive and it would completely overshadow Viridian Apartments.

This will block the light in Viridian Apartments which we manage.

We live in Viridian Apartments next door. This development will steal our ligh as it will dwarf our building. It will also lead to over crowding in an already overly strained area.

I object to the development on the basis that it would be the third large university student accommodation development in the area whereas the developer has not provided proof that our borough/area has demand from residents for this type of accommodation. The development does not keep with the height of the area. Our area has a significant need for affordable housing and this development does not help in addressing this. The freeholders have neglected the maintenance of the plot that they intend to develop for years with it being regularly filled with litter. Additionally the alarm on the building regularly goes off impacting on nearby residents rest. These are signs of a developer that does not intend to respect the area or its residents.

The current plans will block light and impact on privacy.

Too close to other buildings, no appropriate infrastructure, completely blocking the light for the surrounding buildings

Loss of light and privacy – Surrounding buildings will suffer overshadowing and overlooking.

The development is too big and will have significant and negative impact on existing residents.

I would like to oppose this development because it will block our views and light

I oppose the proposal since we will lose privacy, light, space and the area is not safe for this number of people. Moreover this is a residential area which will be completely ruined if this goes ahead.
