Kamron Johnson and Hunter Jones(Pictured Above) were both students at Ben Lomond who had their lives cut short and will not be graduating with the rest of their Class of 2019 this May. Their lives impacted their classmates in and out of school and the Class of 2019 would like to be able to recognize and memorialize them at what would be their graduation. According to District Policy 9.5 these students won’t be allowed to be recognized at graduation. The aim of this petition is to show the support and desire of students and staff at Ben Lomond to have this policy suspended until after graduation and then to have it looked at in order to provide a more compassionate policy towards Student and Staff Memorialization.

I feel that these kids should be recognized at the time of graduation their families deserve to have their diploma if they were so close to graduate and they had the braids to do it this will help ease some pain for the parents and for the students in school that lost their friends
When I was in high school, we had an entire assembly to honor a student killed in a car accident. Pages in the year book were dedicated to her, and I am sure she was talked about at graduation. That is disrespectful for the school to not include their memory at graduation.
I feel this is a earned honor on the part of the deceased!! It wasn’t their choice to have their lives cut short!! If their high school credits were earned, it most definitely should be acknowledged!!! Their parents should at least accept their earned honor.
Hunter and kameron were two of the main "lights" in school, everyone loves those boys and it would be amazing to hear there names called out just as they should've been this year! Their year!!ets let these boys graduate!!!
There was a girl named Destiny that was killed in a car accident in my class year (2018) at BL, and a student just tried to bring a balloon to represent her. Sadly, the security there yelled at the student and took the balloon away. I think this regulation in school districts needs to change.

It is the least the school could do. The families aren't asking much and they're not trying to glorify death. Don't sweep these students under the rug. Respect for the deceased, please.
