I was there the day this tragic incident took place, and I will be forever affected by it. Derrick was a friend of mine and I knew Redd but not well. I believe Redd has served his time and should be released. I will never forget Redd knelling next to Derrick crying and yelling over and over "I"m sorry D!" I'm sorry! It was obvious that he wasn't some monster looking to murder someone, but rarher a young boy who made a terrible decision to carry a gun that day. I know there are consequences to our actions, but Redd has paid twice over.

I know this story all to well,I am a good friend of Edwin Swan. In fact, I am his son Cordell Thompson god-mother. Although I have been there for his son,I see "Redd" in him. He has grown to be a very respectable, smart, young man. Unlike my son who lost his father tragicaly, him and Cordell have a great relationship. they taught each other how to be men in our society. Only diffrernces is that Cordell's dad has been locked-up his whole life.Thats not fair to him,he has went his entire life wondering if he really loved him... He knows he does, but not having him in his life has been hard for this young man.He has suffered long enough.... We are born into this world with 2 parents, He has 1, because of tragic accident Norbert Nadel has taken so much from him he feels like wtf?! Every boy needs a man in their lives. If you cant find it in your heart to forgive Edwin, Then think about all the young men out here committing crimes because they have no "RoleModels" And from what i know about Mr.Edwin Swan.... He was always a leader. PLEASE RELEASE MY FRIEND!!! Derrick never deserved what happened...He knew it was an accident, Knowing both gentlemen,He would have said this is enough a long time ago, release him. He told Derrick that he was sorry for what happened, when it happened. Yet, society today is out for themselves. It's very sad,but true. This tragic accident has changed so many people lives, including mine. 24 years out of society is already going to be an adjustment.

Both families have suffered tremndously. This man has served enough time & has shown that he given the chance can be a benefit to our society. Let's show that ppl are not to be thrown away. Everyone deserves a second chance. After all that's what this country is built on. Free Edwin Swan ASAP.
