Forestgrove Drive Menai Holy Family Traffic

The selfishness of parents and lack of interest by the school and council is astounding. I have called the school and council on a number of occasions about this traffic situation and have basically been told to bugger off.

I live further up Menai Rd and the traffic going both ways at these times is horrendous…. It only from the Catholic School but also coming from Inaburra School.

The traffic is just ridiculous. I was stopped yesterday for 20 minutes . Something has to be done about it.

I have lived in Woodlands Estate for over 28 years. The gate on Forest Grove Drive was put in place for the residents of Woodlands Estate's children to use for easy access to Aquinas College and Holy Family. The Father at Holy Family had always reassured the residents of this. Now we deal with a daily challenge on school days to move in and out of our homes. Some days it can take over 20 minutes just to drive from the Menai over head bridge to The Woods Circuit. This is just not acceptable. Why can't the families place their children on the bus or walk.

It is a silly hazard that needs to be looked at.

Definitely needs attention, thoughtless parents take no consideration for other drivers.

The daily traffic chaos this drop off zone creates is dreadful. The road is narrow and not suitable or safe for heavy school traffic and children. The amount of traffic at a standstill heavily impacts the large roundabout on Menai Rd making it very unsafe for through traffic also.

The gate was originally put there for the local kids to walk to school from the estate the drop off zone needs to removed for the safety of the kids and pet living in the estate

I live in the Woodlands estate and it is bedlam trying to go in or out of our area. People have no regard for residents or their property. I must also add, that when this gate was put there it was for local residents children to walk to school. Do parents really have to drop of their entitled children,I think they should either walk or catch the bus.

The school needs to have entry from the front on Anzac Rd. Also the 40km on Menai Rd shouldn't be on as its not on the main entrance to school. There are lots of schools on the area but the 40km from round about near Menai Park upto payee Street is ridiculous and then to have school back gate which is very congested both morning and afternoon is an accident waiting to happen. There are a lot of elderly residents in area and emergency services will have a very hard time getting through to help them or any resident living in Woodlands estate. School needs to drop in numbers and only accept in area children and only one vehicle entry made available. Safety is a big issue fir the school children, parents being lazy and need to send kids on a bus a day the Safety issue for the locals that paid to live there prior to gate being opened for school drop off point. Not ideal back gate being open for drop off. It was an emergency exit only and should only be used as an emergency exit. Put the locals 1st that have lived here for years prior to the expansion of school and their Safety.

So over the arrogant parents blocking up the whole street and always pulling out on top of me with no warning whatsoever!!!!

This gate and the traffic problems should never have been allowed. When we purchased our la d we made sure there was no school access from this side, it would have affected our decision to buy. Now many years later we have a gate and all the associated problems and were never notified of the gate being put in. I worry about emergency access, impossible around school times. It is so frustrating to have to sit in traffic while inconsiderate parents wait for a spot to park stop to wave to children. There is illegal parking all day long in front of the post box and the Ranger says there is no point in doing anything about it as it’s a little known rule. I try to avoid school times as it is a nightmare and I shouldn’t have to do this. This should never have been allowed and needs to be stopped.

This issue has been ongoing for years and SSC has only made it worse by extending to pickup and drop off bay areas. This road is the only entry and exit for every resident within the Woodlands Estate. Not only does it cause major disruption for residents it also puts every resident at an increased risk when Emergency services would have to respond to an incident.

The traffic jams are not fair on people who live here

The traffic issues caused by the drop off zone and side gate access at the Catholic schools far outstrip traffic issues caused by any other local school. Parents consistently refuse to obey road rules or show common courtesy. I have personally been abused by parents several times whilst following the road rules. The school has washed its hands of offering any further solution or management of the problems. Residents of the estate cannot get in or out for lengthy periods both morning and afternoon which is highly concerning in any emergency situation. Furthermore residents were never give an oportunity to have a say in the development of this area of the road/land. This problem continues to become worse with the passing years with the expansion of the schools enrollments and with many teaching staff now also parking in Forestgrove Dr on a daily basis. Council needs to manage this situation, not wash its hands and claim its all too hard.

It is getting worse every year, what will happen when the traffic closure of Heathcote road pushes all the traffic onto Menai Rd or the Bypass? Its already backed up terribly, with just the School drops offs for Holy Family/Aquinas

This is a Residential debacle

The traffic in this limited area has got beyond ridiculous, the parents and school are selfish and have no care for the residents in the wood circuit or the greater menai community out on menai rd often blocked in all directions ins kilometre radius around the school. It is a danger for incoming residents and services and against all the parking rules placed in the street
