Logic would tell you not to proceed with development by the increase flooding we have seen the past 20+ years. We had to raise our foundation 20” due to lack of city to maintain drainage:

We have lived in Forest Cove since 2009, and the drainage is getting worse. The city is not taking care of the drainage. We have known that they have an easement from Butter Cup to large ditch between subdivisions (Trailwood Village and Forest Cove) and city will not pipe over for drainage. Do not allow more building this will only lead to more flooding.

To build in a area that has a proven track of devastation and flooding on public record is greedy and haphazard! Throwing caution to the wind for money and putting people’s lives, property and property values at risk needs to stop in the Kingwood and Houston Areas! Make this a Green Space for the Community. Preserve the Environment and the Nature that thrives on that Golf Course! Stop

I reject the development of more homes, more congestion in Forest Cove. Kingwood traffic already uses our streets for exiting Kingwood with all the construction on Northpark and Kingwood Dr. We need more exits like extending Woodland Hills across the river, not more traffic.

Absolutely not! I’ve seen the devastation over and over in Forest Cove. Harvey flooded that golf course to close permanently. I would like to see it as a park as well or something else for the community. The people who live around there and paid extra to be around a golf course are being screwed. Trying to develop the land will make flooding worse, plus whatever they want to build will just sink. Just my thoughts!

I'm extremely against development of this kind at all, particularly right through where that house is. I'm concerned about the amount of traffic that will generate, how 128 homes will affect our area, the quality of those homes, as well as the traffic that will create down Chestnut from Kingwood Drive. It may make entry and exiting much more difficult. And of particular concern is all the flooding that has NOT been resolved in our area. My house almost flooded in Imelda and it has been ignored and never addressed, even though the concern was brought up. And I'm concerned for the many others that flooded. That water cannot drain in additional concrete.

We live in the neighborhood next to Forest Cove, but it’s only a few hundred feet from the former golf course. Regardless of what the floodplain shows, we’ve had several scares with regular thunderstorms. Drainage rate is not a accurately reported and removing more impervious terrain will only increase the risk of flooding.

Flooding is already a big issue in this area! The Property itself that is being planned for yet more homes has flooded in parts of it several times! Taking out more trees and creating yet more cement will result in yet more dangerous run off!

We haven’t lived in Forest Cove that long but we love the neighborhood. The quiet community is part of what drew us to move here. With the development of the golf course, flooding is a major concern for everyone that lives on a street adjacent to it. Rather than turning more green space into concrete, the City should step in, as they have in other flooding concerns, and purchase the land and rehab the golf course and keep FC as original as possible, while the City creates a revenue stream. I’m sure, based on others comments, people would love to have the golf course functioning again. I would like to see ANYTHING done with the golf course except turning it into more concrete jungle.
