Foreign drivers to sit New Zealand Drivers Licence test

This would encourage public transport spending by visitors and make our people safer on our roads.

Too many people are dying and nobody seemed to care. This is getting insane - the fact that that someone who is used to driving on the other side of the road on a learner licence can pilot a one ton death machine on our road with nothing to stop them part from death.

I've felt this way for years, tourism is unacceptably unregulated in many regards. Coming from Hawaii and Queenstown I've seen the worst of what tourism does. These people will happily keep coming back even if we try to introduce regulation to ensure the industry is sustainable, safe and mutually beneficial.

There are too many accidents and fatalities on our roads caused by people not being familiar with our road rules.

I would expect the same if I went overseas. If you have to redo any form of medical and even law practice when working elsewhere in the world, why not vehicles.

I think possibly if it was more than one month

Fully agree that they should sit a test there so many different driving rules for different countries and this is a way to know that they are aware of ours

This is a logical decision that ensures a base level of expertise for people operating vehicles in New Zealand

These drivers are dangerous to everyone else as they are taking too many lives
