I think anyone who visits here and is renting a vehicle should be able to prove they can handle a vehicle on our roads at 100km/hr as is the maximum speed. Not on our motorways, but on our substandard roads. I hope this petition gains the traction it needs.

There is a definite need for tourists to be rigorously tested before they are allowed to drive on our roads, this is far too common :-(

My mother was in an accident and few years ago she got hit by an Asian driver. I think if tourists are allowed to drive here then they should be put through driver testing with a driving instructor to assess their driving before they end up on our roads.

Personally I feel regardless of how long a tourist is going to be in our country they should be sitting a NZ drivers licence IF they are planning to drive even once. My thoughts are with you all for the loss of your beautiful son. This should never have happened.

A simple piece of legislation to pass that will have such an impact on many lives.
It is also high time the rental car/camper agencies stepped up and took some responsibility for letting these killers on our roads.

The law needs immediate change to encompass the request this petition makes to stop the needless crashes, deaths and injuries caused by these incompetent overseas drivers.

There definitely needs to be a change in the law for foreign drivers. There has been to many accidents, some resulting in death.
