Foreign drivers to sit New Zealand Drivers Licence test

NZ needs to be pro-active on this issue NOW

This change is well overdue and I can not believe the laws regarding tourist drivers are still so lapse.

I have seen too many innocent kiwis killed on our roads but tourist drivers it's discusting and absolutely ridiculous that they are alowed to drive here !! A friend of mine was hit by an Asian before xmas she nearly lost her life and unfortunately the impact killed her unborn baby who was due in a couple of weeks... he crossed the line straight into her vehicle... her life is in tatters because of his shocking careless driving!! I 100 percent back this petition and will share it around as much as I can.

No liscence 4 foreigners full stop.made to ride 50cc bike observing all road rules first to learn properly,don't learn no liscence.then and only then will law abiding bikers and others road users will be safe from these overseas idiots.Ive ridden nz roads they are idiots plus

This is really important - recently had to report a campervan that was frequently drifting on to the wrong side of the road - very scary to watch!

This happens way to often, its the reason I gave up riding on the road really. Tourists are not being held accountable for their actions, its like a licence to kill on NZ roads.

100% agree. Everybody should know NZ road rules and be able to drive safe in NZ.

Every international visitor should understand our road code and symbols!

The laws around tourist licences need to be thoroughly reviewed and changed to stop incompetent drivers killing New Zealanders while driving on our roads. Current pathetic rules allowing tourists to drive on our roads without sitting a NZ test are unacceptable !

3 months or 3 days it shouldnt matter they are killing us and getting away with it.

With so many accidents and deaths on our roads caused by overseas visitors this new law couldn't happen soon enough !

i agree- if you are here (nz)longer than 3 months you need to sit a licence.
