These deaths are preventable and still government does nothing. Hopefully next time it will be someone they love maybe then they'll make the change.

I lived in Queenstown for two years between January 2015 and October 2016... during this time I have had the following happen to myself... I have seen people drive the wrong way round round-a-bouts, I have had someone (in town) come towards me round a corner, driving in my lane (i.e they were driving on their right hand side of the road), and I have also had someone do a three point turn on Frankton Road in front of my car. It was pouring with rain and I only just managed to avoid hitting them as they were perpendicular to the flow of traffic, and in the middle of the road. I do not think any of these people are bad drivers but some form of education surrounding our traffic laws is clearly necessary

good work on the petition, but i still believe anyone entering the country with a foreign licence for any length of time needs to be tested!

Make driving tests compulsory for overseas drivers, how many more innocent lives must be destroyed before Government wake up and deal with a problem that they have left to fester.

I believe they shouldn't be allowed to drive FULLSTOP until they have passed a full NZ licence! Who in their right stupid mind allows them to drive without it?!

Definitely should have to no matter how long they are here for our own citizens have to sit tests to drive in our country and they have grown up here with our roads and road laws why shouldn't foreigners have to do the same?

I have followed a person in a camper van driving on the wrong side of the road, despite trying to get there attention they drove for over 5km before realising, it's a miracle there was no head on collision

Definitely this should be changed. Wouldn't hurt to require defensive driving courses of our own youth before handing over a license

Asians should have to sit a driver's licence before they can hire car as most arrive here with a bogus licence and can't drive for sh*t!

Yes! Thats what I've been talking about since I came to NZ in 2012. I was stunned that I could just go to AA and get a New Zealand drivers licence just by handing in my german licence, without having to sit a test or be handed a road code or anything!

The social, financial and emotional aftermath is just not warranted when something can be done to prevent the injuries or reduce the frequency of these avoidable collisions. It would be negligent not to act when we clearly are able to do so!!

Tourist money more important than New Zealand lives.
