I know many tourist from China are holding fake driving licence. So it is absolutely necessary implement the requirement of NZ Driver's Licence for foreigners.

I believe that ALL visitors MUST sit a NZ driving course and test if they want to drive here in NZ. We have taxis, Uber, buses and trains for visitors to use (even, and especially, if in NZ for 3 months or less!).
The lack of English language for many visitors means they cannot read our road caution signs. Also, most countries drive on the other side of the road.
This is extremely hazardous to all road users (including the tourists themselves)
If the situation was reversed - I would never dream of driving in another country if I was only a visitor!

I fully support this idea - just saw on TV 3 Newshub and couldn't agree more with the notion of making all overseas drivers complete a test prior to driving on our roads.

All foreign drivers should take a written test before they are allowed to drive to show they have some idea of the road rules.

In reference to what has been mentioned in the comments, I agree that it should be when they initially wish to drive on NZ roads.

Possibly even less than three months. After 3 months the traveler will already be more used to our roads and theoretically is less likely to cause a crash. The very first time they drive is the most dangerous I think.

We can't drive in China why should they be able to drive here - especially with bought licences and no driving experience at all!

They need to pass nz full license test no matter how long they will stay. Because if we can trust them driving for the first 3 months then there's no point to doubt their driving skill in NZ later on.

Why let them loose on our roads at all?
