Foreign drivers, particular from right side driving contries, should sit the Drivers Licence test before they drive.

Reflect on this questions before signing the petition. The ultimate goal of this petition is to reduce the number of accidents caused by foreigners driving in NZ after three months in the country, right? First: to make a huge change in the entire system with all costs involved, it is crucial to know if the percentage of accidents caused by foreigners that drive in the country is statistically higher than the percentage of New Zealanders who drive and cause accidents. Because absolute numbers of accidents don't bring any information. Accidents will always happen in any country where people drive. Second: the chances of having an accident by a newcomer are much higher in the first three months rather than after them. So requiring drivers license after this period doesn't make so much sense. Third: if the tourism industry is one of the largest sources of revenues, directly or indirectly the New Zealander will feel the decrease in tourism with this measure. Last, many countries around the globe host tourists every year and, as far as I know, none of them require such a thing. Just consider these reasons before signing the petition and think if the goal will be achieved. More data is required to make informed decisions and other measures should be considered.

The govt in general need a wake up call. It's like everything else if ur own family is not involved then it gets put back to be reviewed at a later date.

I fully support to put this in place. I dont want to be another accident waiting to happen on the open road. I have seen so many near misses. And nearly involved several times.

Excellent idea, BUT this legislation needs to target ALL foreigner drivers, not just those with 3 month plus visas. Whether they're only here for a few days, they should still be required to pass some test. I don't care how inconvenient it may be for them.

I agree it is well behind time that people who have left hand drive in their own country be made to sit and pass N.Z driver license test.

the minister should also ban skate board riders from the road and footpath no brakes or lights or steering is it any wonder one gets killed riding at night without any reflecter or light wake up minister and do something
