We live here in Australia and we have the same with foreign drivers here. It is a great idea and hope you get enough signatures and it passes parliament

They should have to get a licence in nz because so often they don't know the road rules and start driving on wrong side of road and aren't use to nz weather conditions

Yes for sure overseas drivers should do a test. As I've seen too many near misses in Auckland. They just can't drive properly.

A year since Rhys Middleton was killed by an Asian person. Make overseas people sit a license.

This has to stop..Foreign drivers need to hold some sort of NZ permit to drive here...these are accidents that can be avoided.My heart goes out to all the families who have lost loved ones in this way.

Yes all foreigners must hold a full NZ drivers license before being able to legally drive a vehicle on NZ Roads!!

Why shouldn't they be subject to the strict licensing rules that NZers have to abide by. Many foreign tourists drive on the other side of the road in their home country and they just can't get their heads around driving on our side, plus the challenges of our difficult roads in NZ. Something urgently needs to be done!!

Has happened to me whilst driving near Taupo. Overseas drivers are a menace on our roads.

Fully support this petition, nobody who normally drive on the right hand side of the road, be able to get off a plane in NZ and jump in a rental car without any instruction, or test, and drive off...

Every visitor that comes to NZ, especially those who drive on the opposite side of the road, should sit a practical test. Too many people are being killed on our roads by inexperienced foreign drivers. I support this petition 100%

NZ roads can be windy, hilly and at time narrow. Passing is not always possible and visibility limited. Respect for these conditions is difficult to teach, therefore taking time to learn and experience is surely the only way to ensure road safety.
