Foreign drivers to sit New Zealand Drivers Licence test

In support of Karen Rutherford, an amazing women injured and traumatised by a foreign driver at fault

If I have to be educated and experienced before taking the wheel on our roads then why shouldn't tourists be tested at the same standards?! Really hope this goes through, safer for EVERYONE

Enough is enough! My parents were very nearly seriously injure n a collision just a few days ago, caused by an overseas driver overtaking on a blind corner

I would like to leave my house in Dunedin for a day out without worrying if I will get home in one piece. This is something I've only begun to worry about in the last two years.

Bring in legislation to include the offence of "motoring manslaughter" for negligent driving resulting in a death and extend that in particular to cover foreign drivers resident in NZ for more than three months without having passed a NZ driver test and being involved in a fatal accident.

Our roads csn be dangerous and our road rules need to be followed. Too easy for tourists to drive tired and to drive unfamiliar roads. It's a recipe for disaster. We can and should do better!! Tourists need to held to the same standard as low drivers - they should pass a driving test before the get behind the wheel!

Absolutely need this-NZ is the most sought after tourist spot and YES they need to sit a test to protect us kiwis,our kids and themselves!.!

Working around Auckland Airport, I can spot the foreign drivers a mile away. Most absolutely have no idea what the rules are.

i live in southland and tourists and have had numerous close calls with tourist drivers. The number of accidents they cause is also very under reported
