Foreign drivers to sit New Zealand Drivers Licence test

I ride a motorcycle and all too often tourists driving are involved in bike verses car accidents

Get them off our roads.

please do make this change.

NZ introduced a graduated driver licence SO why on earth do we let AND give all these foreign drivers free reign on our roads, which are foreign & they haven't passed a test to ensure they know the road code & road rules & are competent drivers on our NZ roads !!!!!!!!

The negative impact as well as the positive on the resident population must be regulated

If nz citizens have to prove they cam drive on our roads then so should tourists!

No family should have to endure what this lovely poor family has had to go through ! Stop the foreign drivers who don't know the road rules

A virtual driving test also needs to be undertaken by all tourist drivers before they should be allowed a rental car. Their competency should be recorded in a central base and if they return to NZ at a later time they can or cannot be allowed to drive.

I had to sit and pass to have a temporary drivers licence when I went to America several years ago now, I think everyone driving on NZ road, should have to sit and to have to pass an exam before they can drive on ours, to show at least some competency before getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. I would expect no less for myself if I was traveling outside NZ also. Lets try and keep our roads and precious families as safe a possible.

Yes I agree. Foreigners should have to sit NZ licence

I know too many people who have died at the wheel because of others. Almost all of them were foreign drivers

I have tried to address the issue of Chinese being able to get their license when they cant read/write English but got fobbed off. It is absolutely disgusting that there is different laws for them when all our signs are in English. Also in other countries we have to resist our license so why not them. We have to be able to speak/read their language.

It is such a shame that a five minute competency test that will help improve road safety seems to be somewhere the Government does not want to go.

this is so important! drivers on the road these days are crazy, and mostly arent even from new zealand! this needs to happen
