I have signed this because I think it would go a long way to help reduce our road toll. In saying that though it needs to be all persons entering the country not having a New Zealand drivers licence. Tourists especially.

I think anyone driving in NZ should have to pass the full driver's test, not just those who are in NZ for longer than three months. I have this opinion as a result of seeing the atrocious driving by tourists around the Aoraki Mt Cook national park.

Its a legal requirement in all states of Australia for 99% of foreigners after 3 months, tests set depending on the country of origin and what level their rated at against Aus standards, so no brainer that NZ should follow suit.

I think any foreigner who wishes to drive in NZ while visiting, no matter the length of time, should sit the test both theory and practical .

Too many near incidents for my liking, they need to know the road rules before putting everyone in danger.

Tests should be a must. And the goverment shouldn't use the excuse it will hurt tourism. More like the goverments back pocket.

motorbike rider errant. have had too many accidents to write down. old drivers and frogien drivers. please give them the confidence to drive safely and STOP tourists KILLING US.

Absolutely! There's no way foreign drivers should be allowed to drive on our roads as they do. Having lived in tourist hot spots (Coromandel Peninsula and Queenstown) it's scary and often astonishing some of the driving I've witnessed.
