Absolutely they should have to pass a driving test there has been far too many foreigners coming over to our country killing or injuring others, we've witnessed cars driving on the wrong side on state highways, just isn't good enough

Need to have something similar although not quite as onerous as a full driving test for those tourists here for less than 3 months, otherwise this is pointless!
I would imagine that most accidents caused by foreign drivers happen during holidays that have a duration of weeks not months.

It's a no brainer. As a motorcyclist myself I have had a few close calls with foreign drivers.Get it done

I am fully in support of this after being hit by an Indian tourist who was on day 3 of his holiday here. Wrote off our car and his rental.

I agree time for foreign drivers who have other rules and drive left hand steering vehicles to sit a test & make sure they know our road rules.

A noble cause. I have been badgering my MP Amy Adams about this for some time now. There are some on a driving holiday with a licence but actually can't drive. Stop them.

I too lost a good friend on a motorcycle with a foreign driver knocking him off his bike. Craig Chambers from Motueka

I am a motorist and motorcyclist, working & travelling throught Auckland, Wgtn and the West coast centres on a regular basis for the last 15 years. In that time while the traffic has increased hugely & apart from Auckland CBD, tourist traffic (of all nationalities) appears to be the most significant demograph increase I see on the roads.
Having also worked in Asia there a similarities in the poor driving skills I have witnessed there and see now in some tourist traffic on NZ roads so some countries clearly have a lower standard of training compared to our high threashold with many learners failing on their first attempt.
How many more innocent Kiwi families lives need to be shattered before we see a positive political response that deals with this issue?
