Not only are our roads quite unique the bulk of the world drive on the other side. Some type of action is needed.

If we can't drive on New Zealand roads without passing a test why the hell should foreigners be able to?????? Time to put a stop to it.

Government need to do something about toursist driving in NZ - and have harsher penalties.

Should also bring in rules like Canada that you can not pick up a vehicle hire the same day you fly in.

Fully back this. Our NZ roads are unforgiving, especially to a tourist visiting typical tourist areas. I'm a UK citizen living here in NZ. I am a driver (15+years) and motorbike rider (2 years) and I have opted to take additional learning "Ride forever" to survive on our roads. The Gov't/ACC need to support/enforce those wishing to ride/drive here (especially where road rules are different) in order to prevent unnecessary loss of life and continued devastation to those affected.

I am a bus driver working in Queenstown, so I get to see first hand foreign drivers. I am all for foreign drivers doing some sort of test due to what I witness every day.

Absolutely this needs to be enforced. It's not fot just our generation but for the generations to come who are in the vehicle with us when unqualified drivers are putting our lives at risk.
There should be a test for any foreigner entering nz with different road laws to ours. The same should apply for us in other countries where the driving regulations are so different from our own.

i believe that any tourist wishing to stay over 2 weeks should be required to sit a driving test
