I am very much support this petition. Living in Northland, I have seen on many occassions, over seas drivers cross the centre line, holding up traffic and weave dangerously from side to side on country roads. The law needs to target the group that come from countries that drive on the right hand side of the road.

ALL drivers on the roads need to be able and not provide an avoidable danger to other drivers and pedestrians. Testing foreign drivers for their ability to drive safely on NZ roads is a no brainer.

Got crashed into in a 100k zone cold have ended a lot worse! Close calls weekly

New Zealand should be for New Zealanders. The Tourist dollar simply isn't worth the lives of New Zealanders. Someone here is forgetting the difference between Money, and what money can buy. We had all that money could buy, until the wealth started screwing the environment over - why? - for Money !

I've had a relative die from tourists driving on the wrong side of the road. This would be good, they need to learn about our roads before we lose more friends/family.

If they are here on holiday they should be made to sit some sort of test before being allowed to drive on our roads.

That lady should not have gotten off lightly! She she took a life! This needs to be addressed and any foreigner driving in New Zealand needs to sit a test and drive to our rules.

I think they should have to sit a test! One of the common errors I see is foreign drivers not using a flush median as it should be! They tend to not use it when they are going to turn on an intersection ect!

This is a great idea and I totally agree. The licence to drive should be dated from the day the person passes the test to the date they are leaving the country and they should only be allowed to get one question wrong otherwise no licence should be issued!!! This is our country and our citizens should be looked after first before visitors who cause death or injury and then go back home with no consequences!!
