We drove round Europe in 2007-2008 and had to adjust to their road rules and opposite everything over there. When we returned to NZ we were SHOCKED that we had to stop and think what we were doing and had some near misses and we are from NZ and should already know. At least a basic driving test should be better than none!

There have been far too many NZ lifes lost time to do something sbout it!. I was hit by an Asian woman who was on my side of the road and she wasnt even aware if it!

It's well overdue. .. too many precious kiwi lives are lost tragically as a result of unskilled foreign drivers.

There is so much to see in our country to drive and look is a danger so we need to ensure our tourist have good driving skills to start with

If a person is un able to speak fluent english with a police officer then how do they understand our road code .
To drive our roads like us you need to prove you are fit and able mentally and physically.

Long overdue....need to stop the death rate created by foreign drivers. They also need to be made accountable for their actions....not deported and serve no sentence!

I have the right to be safe on the roads!!! Driving is a privilege that is attained through proving you know the road rules and can be safe. THE DEFINITION OF INSANE IS DOING THE SAME THING AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS! Tourists have already proven they are lethal weapons on the road. How many people have to get hurt or killed before the government acknowledges that.
