Foreign drivers to sit New Zealand Drivers Licence test

This really should have been done a long time ago. I see so many bad tourist drivers that are just asking for an accident.

This is a reasonable request from reasonable people who should be heard with rationality rather than ignored because of a need for political equity. Australia doesn't worry about the reciprocity that Mr Bridges is worried about across many areas when it comes to foreign visitors, and yet they still go there in droves. Lastly, why shouldn't kiwi drivers be likewise accountable for road safety overseas. His argument has no merit and distances himself from real loss from real people. Disappointed Mr Bridges. You have lost my vote and many that I know next time around in the BOP.

I agree that all Foreigners, that enter New Zealand must sit a NZ Drivers Licence, before they drive our roads, and be made compulsary. There has been too many deaths on our roads because of Foreigners.

Compulsory full nz license should be sat before any driving on our roars and killing our people.

It is completely wrong that a driver can drive without any experience on NZ roads. Anyone who kills MUST face the consequences, too - and not be deported after an appeal is granted for Home Detention, with a Judge of the NZ Court knowing full well the Immigration Department has already issued a Deportation order - the killer driver was deported without doing ANY home detention, for killing an amazing young man. It's so wrong - the law MUST change, to make foreign drivers properly licenced and accountable for their actions! Rental companies must NOT be allowed to give out rental cars without proper checks, also.

Yes I agree they should sit a test before driving on our New Zealand roads!!!! To many lives have been lost because of foreign drivers........ It needs to be stopped before it to late.

Anyone who kills a person should be punished as any other muderer would.

Any visitor who wants to drive here should pass a competence test including knowledge of the NZ road code regardless of the length of stay
