I think this is a great idea. Driving standards in many countries are lower than ours, and the results are tragic....

Too many foreign drivers "buy" their licenses at home and then come here and use them without any worries of being held accountable for their actions

Drivers from right hand drive countries should not be permitted to drive at all unless they have permanent residents visas and have been here longer than 12 months

Deff all for this, too many accidents and dodgy foreign drivers

The fact is that the vast majority of foreign drives on our roads come from an environment of driving on the RIGHT. For them to drive on the LEFT is an accident waiting to happen!

Absolutely! And if it means New Zealanders need to sit a licence overseas as Simon Bridges worries so be it!!

Too many deaths on our roads from foreign drivers unfamiliar with our roads and rules.

Enough is enough, this must be stopped. They must sit for a NZ drivers license or at least do their time for their crime before they leave our country.

Good, this needs to happen fast!! Even Asian residence drivers are bad drivers. They need to sit an authorised drivers test, not just pay under table for the license with the same nationality as them to get the license, how can they be on the road if they are not confident? look at the driver teachers and people signing off the drivers.

Isn't this simply just reasonable though? Motor vehicles are a more dangerous than owning a gun... we need to make sure that drivers are up to scratch. It's not a right, it's a privilege.

Seems as if you can pay yourself out and receive special favours if you are a visitor or other from some certain nations. Profit seems to come before 'NZ' citizens.
