This is long overdue...it's hard for our young people to get licences, same should apply to immigrants and tourists.

Every foreigner driving in a different country should have a license in the country they reside in whether they are there for a month or more or use public transport. A lot better than having a grieving whanau who will never see their loved one's because of someones incompetence.

We need to do this, there has been too many crashes involving overseas drivers. This is for safety for all on our roads.

They come from countries with different rules and are a danger to our drivers

To many accidents occur because tourists dont know how to read our road signs. If they cant read the signs how are they meant to know the road rules. New Zealanders get pinged for not following the rules why not tourists!

I cringe when I see a foreign driver on the road. Personally I think we need to have some sort of hire system for a driver as well as car/ camper they travel round NZ in.

Can't believe this person literally got off scot-free. Can't believe the stupidity of this person driving a car when she had no skills, no experience and ZERO confidence!!

This would be a good way to see if they are road worthy as theirs and other people's lives are worth saving ... too many accidents causing multiple deaths
