I'm from China. I know how different to drive in China and New Zealand. To pass the practical test or at least pass the road code test before drive independently on open road of New Zealand is very important for a long term visitor. It's for the safety of each and every one.

Really should make it compulsory when they apply a visa to NZ. We don't need export road killer.

Agree, We need safe on the road. International driver should have and pass a formal test, otherwise they maybe trouble maker.

Truly sorry for what happened. Pass this into law, it may affect the tourism economy, but it will stop this kind of tragedy from happening. But isn't people's life more important?

as a Chinese , I feel really sorry about this and I strongly agree with this petition. We need them to be well trained and pass test , to be sure they are able to drive safe!

All foreign drivers must pass FULL NEW ZEALAND driving tests before being allowed to drive.
