I was a foreign driver before, I have 5 years driving oversea but it took me 1 year to get use to the local road and get the full-license here. So yes I agree.Knowing driving not equals to knowing driving in NZ.

I totally agree. I am a foreigner I understand there are many traffic rules and regulations different from country to country. This is a potential hazard if we just let them drive directly.

If new Zealanders must study like mad, and practice, practice, practice - then everyone else whom visits NZ, that wants to drive on our roads - then they simply must study and practice, too.
