Too many accidents are being caused by foreigners who don't know the uniqueness of our roads. It is only fair for them that they learn that. How can they know unless they learn it? Just because a person can drive a car in their home country doesn't necessarily mean they will know how to drive here in Aotearoa.

When foreigners arrive in NZ to drive, some come from countries where drivers licences are lax and others from countries where it is very hard to pass a drivers licence - like NZ. So reciprocal agreements are not comparing apples with apples.

yes please, foreigners may not cause majority of crashes, but they sure come close, I and majority of drivers have all come close to having crashes with foreigners but luckly we can usually predict what they are about to do

Too many people have died on our roads due to over seas drivers with lack of the road code.

Yes definitely shouldn't be aloud be hind the wheel untill they have sat a theory test online in there own language so they have no excuse and done a driving lesson with a registered driving instructor. I am fed up with camper vans trying to kill me and my babies.

What harm can it do to ensure our families are kept safe on our roads. Let's ask those who want to live here to meet our standards of road safety.

I'm signing this because I know someone who lost their 5 year old in an accident involving a foreign driver who didn't know the road rules properly.

Or at the very least a test with an AA driving instructor. I have seen two absolutely horrendous foreign drivers, very lucky not to kill themselves or any one else.
