The AAI should treat all (hague compliant) countries equally ...why are agencies needed for some & not other ?

Hague is about protecting children against unethical adoptions NOT preventing them from being adopted !!!!

To be given the opportunity to become parents for the first time thru. Adoption from Kazakhstan twice has been and continues to be the most positive commitment we have undertaken. We feel privileged and humbled that we were allowed to become the adoptive parents to our son and daughter.

The bottom line should always be to place children who need caring for with suitable, willing adoptive parents. Everything else should be about making it happen as quickly, efficiently and effectively as possible.

There must be more political will for inter country adoption. We have a beautiful son from Ethiopia, we are happy and complete now and the children who need families need our help.

As an adoptive parent, who lived in a children's home for three month, I watched children hanging on to an new adult in the hope that they would be their special one. It breaks my heart that the welfare of children is being put on hold by red tape.
