Fact- The Steamboat Springs School Board has it in its authority to make all staff salary negotiations open and transparent to the public and staff.
Fact- Currently Staff Salaries are the biggest line item in the SSSD budget. Salaries are the only line item which is not publicly discussed and negotiations are conducted completely behind closed doors.
Fact- Moving all staff salary negotiations to be transparent and open to the public does NOT take away or alter the Steamboat Springs Education Association recognition as the bargaining agent for the members of the
Association.

Fact- Members of the SSSD Staff who do not belong to the currant Union are not allowed to audit or view the currant staff salary negotiations even thought it effects their own pay.
Fact- Transparent salarynegotiationswill allow for Public and Staff oversight at all levels.
