The stories many of you have shared about how this family music helped you through difficult times are truly moving. I am currently gathering these testimonials to present a formal case for why their legacy belongs on the Walk of Fame.

Reaching this milestone shows that many people still deeply value the musical legacy and the resilience of the Debarge family. It is encouraging to see this groundswell of interest as we move toward seeking formal recognition for their contributions.

This family sleeps and breathes music and talent. Each of them plays multiple instruments, sing like angels and all have endured and maneuvered the tumultuous world of the music business. Their music is still revered and in the hearts and minds of many and are the soundtracks to many of our lives. El DeBarge continues to remain a staple and phenomenal performer to this day. They are past due for a Hollywood star.
They are very instrumental in the music industry. From their voices to their musical style that has been admired and sampled by so many. They have worked hard and continue to work hard even though pain. They deserve this not only for their work but for their triumph as well!!!
Its time and well over due.
The family needs a star on the Walk of Fame.

So many hits. So many triumphs. So many tragedy. So many breakthroughs! DeBarge is the most famous family in Black entertainment- second only to the Jacksons. They definitely deserve a star!!! And as a fellow Michigander, I will be there cheering on the hometown hero’s!
