It's about choice.

For the families who desire an out of hospital birth but for those who may not want to have a home birth. The next closest option is in Tacoma and for those who do not want to travel long distances in labor, this is a safe and deeply needed facility for our community.

The catalyst for this project was the desire to help the several clients who were in poverous conditions whom did not have a place to have their babies out of the hospital, and therefore is a large emphasis on helping this population, although it is extremely suitable for anyone who desires to be in close proximity to the hospital while birthing their child regardless of socioeconomic status.

Studies have proven repeatedly that for women who are screened well and maintain a low-risk pregnancy, outcomes are extremely favorable.

Foothills Midwifery purchased a home in very close proximity to Enumclaw's St. Elizabeth Hospital for the circumstances in which a labor may necessitate a transfer of care. This birth center will be a benefit to the financial well-being of the community as well as the hospital.

This petition exhibits the communities expansive needs for such a facility to become a reality. Please consider signing this petition to prove this need to the City of Enumclaw. Thank you!

St Elizabeth is right there. It makes total sense to have a center nearby in case things go sideways. Common sense people.

SO NEEDED. My sister had to travel so far just to give birth the way she wanted. Why make it so hard on moms??

Great idea. Helping out the women who dont have safe homes to deliver in is reason enough to approve this.

My home birth wasnt an option but I really didnt want the hospital vibes. This is exactly what we need for local families.

Just let them open it. Its a house right next to the hospital already. Doesnt hurt anyone to have more options.

Yes! We need this here in Enumclaw instead of driving all the way to Tacoma. Dealing with traffic while in labor is my worst nightmare.
