Closing these stores will create a food drought within Louisville. People within these areas, specifically Old Louisville, don't have the proper transportation.

The closing of the Kroger on 2nd & Breckinridge doesn't effect me in one way , other than the fact it is a disgrace for our city to not step up and help secure the Kroger for the people there. Surely with all the money that has been spent to develope all the "bike trails and parks " throughout this city, a solution for this immediate need could be found to keep and maintain the Kroger at its present location. Surely that is not too much to ask for!!!

We NEED a grocery store in this neighborhood. This Kroger is in close proximity to university student housing and several senior living centers. Where else are residents with no transportation supposed to go for fresh food and produce?

Please reconsider this closing and work with locals to find a solution. This Kroger is in a very needed location and will hurt a lot of people's access to quality food should it close.

The neighborhood is full of very vulnerable individuals that already have enough hardships in their life. To have to travel by bus or shuttle is difficult and expensive. Most of them would have to go several times a week because they wouldn't be able to transport a lot of groceries at one time.

There are too many people living in that neighborhood who don't have transportation to go elsewhere to grocery shop.

As a lpn nurse,I worked with the homeless through most of the shelters downtown and some who lived in shelters ,or on the streets .or appts provider by programs. Many people are eldery and or sick. Mentally or physicality ,this is the only store they can get to .it's in walking distance ,They don't have cars to get around. It's dark early and too cold to walk far .Some don't have bus passes or the knowledge to get anywhere else.This store is needed for many..homeless and the eldery in this area. Please reconsider closing the store.

Kroger's move to suburban mega-stores, at the expense of smaller inner city human sized stores is driving me to shop elsewhere. Please invest in and maintain smaller, quality stores. It works for Aldi's and Trader Joe's, it should work for Kroger.

I called the 800 Kroger phone number listed in today's Louisville Courier Journal Sunday newspaper. Since it was a national number, it took quite awhile to explain all of the local problems that we're having maintaining food stores in downtown Louisville and the problems with the West End. But we need our local Mayor Fischer and local Kroger management to really get involved. The many senior citizens and others that are handicapped or having transportation difficulties. MUST be helped. This is one 'marginalized' group that needs our voice!

If the people that live in this area say they need it, then what more do you all need??? I have a Kroger in St. Matthews across the street, they deserve a neighborhood Kroger too.
