need to ensure that there is a proper outlet for the waste that has a derivable benefit - e.g AD food waste processing at GENeco

A great initiative, but I agree with the comments about ensuring there are plans in place for emptying them and dealing appropriately with the waste.

This is important and obviously needs financial oulay by the University (of course dealing with waste should not be an unpaid job!) Other recycling options would also be welcome. Residents in the city can recycle more easily than students/staff can on campus - not ideal.

Just want to agree with Shona's comments about who will empty them--we must ensure that this is not yet another unpaid task placed on already over-worked catering and portering colleagues.

Great idea. Had queried this with colleagues just recently as it was something that a University I previously worked at had provided.

There is so much food waste from both students and campus cafes/shops. This installment of food bins will decrease the impact tenfold.
