FONSECA MARTIAL ARTS IS SEEKING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT AT 1100 CENTRAL AVE, UNIT D, IN WILMETTE. THE HEARING IS SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 7TH AND WE NEED EVERYONE'S HELP TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL. WE THINK THAT A DOJO IN DOWNTOWN WILMETTE WILL BE A VIBRANT NEW FEATURE THAT WILL BENEFIT RESIDENTS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES ALIKE. PLEASE SUPPORT US. WE NEED YOUR HELP.
The feedback from local business owners regarding the potential for a new dojo has been encouraging. We are currently preparing our formal presentation for the upcoming hearing to ensure all neighborhood concerns are addressed clearly.

The level of support for this permit application is truly encouraging. This reception suggests that our community sees the potential for a positive addition to the downtown area.

John Fonseca is one of the premier martial arts instructors in the midwest, and is a man of the highest character. This school will be an amazing addition to the Wilmette community.

We have been with FMA for over 5 years. It is a first class organization on all levels and I couldn't think of a better addition to our downtown Wilmette. Plus, the surrounding businesses would see a noticeable benefit. I know I would easily spend an additional 3-5 coffee/meal purchases per week with them before, during and after the kids' classes.

Our kids attended a few months of the Fonseca program when it was at Redefined. It was the best extra curricular they did, character building, fitness, educational, self-esteem. Would love to see them come back to Wilmette

We attend the Fonseca dojo in Evanston but live in Wilmette - it is a wonderful environment and would definitely add foot traffic to benefit the other local businesses

This would be a huge boon to downtown Wilmette, instead of losing business to Evanston (and others). If you are looking to drive more solid businesses to Wilmette, please allow this!

Please allow this dojo to open. Our grandson, who lives with us here in Wilmette takes classes with Fonseca Martial Arts. We would love to be able to walk to classes near our house.
