Valparaiso is a great place to breed a positive and encouraging skate community that could host a magnitude of skateboarders, roller skaters, rollerbladers, scooters and more - all wheels should be welcomed and encouraged

Riding was the best thing to ever happen to me. It kept me out of so much trouble. I made so many awesome friends at skateparks and want that for the younger generation as well! Flounder was a staple in this community, and with the shape it’s in, so many people still show up. We want a new park! Definitely worth it!

Skateparks should be considered just as necessary to a park ‘n’ rec program as ball fields. Many kids aren’t into traditional sports but find they have no support for action sports and nowhere to ride. Make this happen!

Skating is frowned upon or not allowed in most places in Valpo. Business owners /police get mad when people have to use not skate designated areas to do so on. It’s an active hobby for people to be able to do and flounder has always just been a cool spot to literally just hang out.
dooo ittt.
