Florida Death with Dignity Act

Might as well pass legislation or I'll go to a state who does have it

I truly believe that every individual has the right to choose to die with dignity or suffer as their incurable illness progresses. As a nurse i watched countless times the way so many suffered. Its a helpless feeling at times. Always hoping their meds would give them some sort of comfort.. Please give the residents of Florida the choice to choose. It's an option everyone should have. Thank-you.

We need this in Florida so people do not have to move to another State in order to have the option.

I had a VP shunt installed for ICP. I was close to death at that point. I decided to not give for my little girls sake. Its been over a year and I can baraly function. My quality of life isn't good. Some or should I say most days I just want to sleep permanently. Which has since had me researching laws on assistant suicide. Here in Florida we have no resources for such issues. I think Florida needs to get with it. Pass the law that will allow death with dignity.

I believe strongly that this law should be enacted. If anyone I love should be in pain at the end of life I want them to have this option.

Just went through my mom's slow nightmare death. She decided to stop eating and drinking. She deserved better.

I'm a 56-year-old woman who lives in Apalachicola and was diagnosed two years ago with stage 4 lung cancer. I've made it this long thanks to an immunotherapy clinical trial at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. But I know this miraculous-seeming reprieve won't last forever. I've watched multiple relatives -- my mother, uncle, and big sister -- die long, slow, painful deaths from cancer. My father also had a horrible outgoing from Parkinson's disease, as did another relative due to ALS. I don't want this for myself, and many of them didn't either. Who is anyone to tell me what to do with my own dying body?

This should be an individual choice.

Please allow other than 'terminally' ill patients as there are several illnesses (Alzheimers, Parkinsons) that should be allowed.

This should be allowed in every state. Everybody gets emotional and offended, and ridiculous laws are passed to make abortions illegal, right? The government cares about the fetus, but if that fetus is born into a child, then they don't care. Not one iota. If you're "pre-born", you're safe, if your "pre-school", you're screwed.

No one should suffer.

Every person deserves a choice.

67 years old in perfect health. I will live my life with dignity and want to die with dignity when my time comes. The government wasn't involved in my conception or birth and should have no involvement in my last days and my final day.

This should be allowed in our state!

We were forced to watch my father suffer and waste away from cancer. This is such a common sense measure.
