No Bike Path!!!
We agree with all previous comments. We believe the Village should spend its resources and efforts on items that will enhance citizens’ concerns and property values...sidewalks and infrastructure (streets & water). Our water pressure is terrible, we have aging water mains that leak a high percentage of water that is delivered, the quality of the water (despite what the Water Report says) is bad and has so much sediment in it that I have to change my whole house water filter every 6 weeks as the filter becomes a dark brown. Here is where the Village staff should be looking to find grant money to better the lives of its citizens and NOT on building a bike path to nowhere! Our property backs up to Flagg Creek and we don’t want a bike path there to invite potential nefarious activity. Teenagers already congregate under the 53rd St. Bridge and have graffitied the bridge pillars and toss bags of empty beer cans/bottles into Flagg Creek. Don’t encourage more of this type of activity with a bike path behind citizens’ homes!

I would rather have sidewalks throughout the village for the safety of our kids.

Sidewalks would be a much better investment for our neighborhood so our children don't have to ride in the streets to get to school

Strongly oppose a bike path in/through the Forest Hills or Commonwealth subdivisions AND oppose the use of any village funds for such projects.

From the perspective of a Realtor ,as it relates to local home values, the money proposed for this bike path would be put to much better use by adding to the existing infrastructure i.e., sidewalks in Forest Hills.

I think the roads should be fixed rather than use money for a bike path.

Sidewalks on prospect ave to the pool should be a priority and repaving our horrible streets should also be a priority. Bike paths are for when you already have decent infrastructure which our town does not.

My house backs up to Flag Creek, and I feel a bike path along the Creek would invade my privacy, as well as destroy the beautiful wooded area. Please stop planning and development of the bike path.

There are a thousand things this money could be better spent on. I'd much rather have sidewalks in front of my house than a bike path behind it. This is a security and privacy issue. There's simply not enough space back there to ensure the privacy and security of the homes along this route.

Please prioritize sidewalks and streetlights (especially on Franklin) over bike paths. It is a matter of prioritizing safety over exercise.

We need sidewalks and streetlights in Western Springs, not to mention water we can rely on.

This is the dumbest idea in a long time. Please use your positions for things that really need attention and improvement.

Please do NOT put in a bike path. Please use the money for the things we need 1) to fix our streets that are in deplorable condition 2) add sidewalks for improved safety and kids are not walking in the streets 3) enhance WS water quality and remove us from well water 4) install street lights for safety 5) install neighborhood security cameras to deter crime 7) improve WS pool 8) put new benches in at baseball field at Ridgewood Park and new fence guards on top of park fences. The list of of things that could use the additional funding for in WS are endless. Please, no bike path. Thank you.

I am opposed to the bike path because of privacy and safety issue for residents living along the proposed path. Sidewalks would make more sense if the village is looking to make improvements.

please consider reinvesting the time and money for the flagg creek bike path to put those funds towards sidewalks and more lights throughout the village. my area in old town north is exceptionally dark at night; increased street lights will help homeowners feel safe.
