SEC football is and forever will be the pinnacle of collegiate football. From the venues, fans and tailgating in some of the most spectacular college towns in all of the United States, to the athletes, coaches, marching bands and time-honored pre-game traditions; the love for SEC football in our nation's heartland draws fans together. On Saturdays, SEC fans, regardless of their affiliation gather around their TV's in their homes, at their favorite restaurant or hangout, or even at a tailgate to watch the CBS Sports SEC Game of the Week... but there's just one problem. The duo of half wit announcers that CBS allows to make a mockery of our beloved games! Gary Danielson and "Uncle" Verne Lundquist are the most intolerable pair of "analysts" that exists in college football today. These two call players the wrong name more often than they get it right. Their understanding and interpretation of the rules of college football is atrocious and irresponsible if you take into account their impact on the average fan's knowledge of the rules. They demonstrate bias against teams, players and coaches during broadcasts, where broadcasters are meant to be neutral onlookers. The pair even have a website and drinking game dedicated to the follies they provide every week. At this point, the fact that they are still on the air makes the "think-tank" behind CBS Sports appear as dimwitted as they are. There's no way the people signing Gary and Verne's checks should be able to watch a game without questioning their own intelligence. I know the guys at CBS Sports can't be completely ignorant to fans' preferences because they just hired Paul Finebaum to host his radio show on the new SEC Network in 2014. SEC fans are sick of these morons being allowed to trounce all over their teams and disrespect fans by continuing to mock the game we love. Many viewers turn off the sound on the television and listen to radio broadcasts, rather than listen to "The Despicable Duo." It is time for CBS to give SEC football and its fans the respect and treatment they deserve. REPLACE GARY AND VERNE ON SATURDAYS!!
I just spent the morning reading through the stories you have all left about why these broadcasts ruin your weekends and I am floored by the passion here. I only started this because I was frustrated in my own living room but it turns out I am definitely not the only one feeling this way. This has become so much bigger than just my personal annoyance and I am truly humbled by the company I am keeping.

I am honestly stunned by how many people feel the same way I do about these broadcasts. This momentum belongs entirely to the fans who care this much about the game. Thank you for turning this simple frustration into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Gary Danielson is very annoying. On every play it seems he thinks it’s okay to give his opinion on what play should have been called, what the players should have done differently, etc. I’m not usually very critical but he ruins it for me.

Verne & Gary are more horrible at commentating football games than words (or my distain) can ever begin to express

I mute these guys and watch the games. It truly is a slap in the face to the SEC and it's dedicated fans when these two try to commentate a game. My better half said it best that she was glad our team wasn't on CBS this week so we would not have to listen to these guys.

Just give these two biased " sports commentators " Gary Danielson and Verne Lundquist a wake up call to their apparent dis-like for certain teams in the SEC ... The Alabama Crimson Tide Bias is what P...'s Me Off For An Example. Well Hell With That, It's The Main Reason I'm Writing This Comment, Both Hate The Alabama Crimson Tide ... If Both Don't Wake Up With Advice From The Fans of College Football At That Time Of Warning To Stop The Biased Bull...., Then Give Them Their Walking Get The Hell Out Of Dodge Braek Camp And Don't Come Back Papers ... They both are terrible and get worse with each game.
Ps. Is Verne still alive?

I literally have to mute the tv every Saturday. Gary talks way too much and Verne just sounds confused half the time. CBS needs to wake up and hire people who actually know the game of football.
