OakDOT told Nicholas Vigilante in a May 12, 2020 e-mail that a statement of work (SOW) and a request for contractor repair quotes (RFQ) won't happen until the end of this year 2020 - meaning repair work may not start until 2021. The work was promised to begin in the Spring or Summer of 2020. Please don't blame the Councilmember, she tried very hard for us. The problem is at OakDOT. Please write OakDOT Director Ryan Russo at [email protected] and Mayor Libby Schaaf at [email protected] to express extreme displeasure, and request that the repair work be completed as promised by OakDOT no later than the end of 2020.

Unacceptable- we live in the Bay Area with the highest concentrated wealth in the universe- and drive on roads that are embarrassing and dangerous!

Get the negligent City employees to STOP lying and wasting all our tax dollars and do their job and fix the streets, walkways, and sidewalks.
If extra budget - build new sidewalks all throughout Montclair!

It's horrible, Oakland should be paying for my car repair bills at this point.

Thornhill Drive has been in terrible condition after all the rain. The potholes need to be repaired and the stretch needs to be repaved.

Remove and replace the main arteries in Montclair. Snake Road, Thornhill, Ascot, Broadway Terrace, Mountain Blvd, Moraga. All are damaged beyond spot repair. Dangerous to all residents, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. What are my property taxes going to?

I ride a bicycle often throughout our neighborhood and have observed that our roads are in terrible condition and in need of repair and repaving. If not it will lead to vehicle accidents that will lead to injuries or death.

Snake Rd is also in terrible condition, and now all uphill Shepherd Canyon Traffic has been diverted to Snake Rd while work is done on Shepherd Canyon. Whats ironic, is that Snake Rd from Colton Bl to Skyline has been closed for over a year, so the Shepherd Canyon traffic gets diverted twice. Shafted twice!!

Sadly, the lack of obviously essential maintenance punctuates the incompetencies of Oakland's current and past administrations.

That road needs to be replaced as it hasn’t paved in the 30 years I’ve lived in Montclair. Shameful the condition of the roads in oakland.

It's ridiculous that it has come to signing a petition at all. It's so obvious, and has been for years, that Thornhill is in dire need of repair. Just get it done.

Please fix Oakwood Dr. and Elverton Dr. and the drainage problem on Sobrante Rd. while you are at it. These have been ignored for years. Our tax dollars should be used for basic services.

Hill roads are in a terrible state of neglect. Time to step up the effort.
