As citizens of a financially strapped USA we detest the wasteful plans to destroy the Rockaway Boardwalk and replace it with a costly FEMA funded project which will go on in stages through 2017. We demand that the functioning Boardwalk which is in place be left alone and that the concrete piers which have been tested to have at least 30 years left in a stable state be covered with wood or prefabricated stone slabs by April 2015.
