I was born and raised in Long Beach.. I love it here and I love the community but the parking situation in East Village and surrounding areas is driving me out. I have been on parking lot waitlists for over 2 years now, I have tried the weeknight only lots but then have to walk a mile home late at night, I have emailed additional lots asking for info or how to get a permit (ppc) and never hear back, I circle around my neighborhood when I get home from work and if I cant find anything I have to hope the gas station down the street will allow me to park for the night for about $10 per day. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! The quality of life in Long Beach with the parking stress just isn't worth it and we are planning to move to a city that offers the basics such as PARKING. I hope this petition reaches the right people... This city needs parking solutions and change.

I've been a resident down first Street between Imosa injury for over 15 years. The parking issue is so very serious and needs to be addressed directly. You cannot continue to build multi unit housing without adequate parking.

I am moving out of Longoing Beach for this very reason. I'm done with this city's lack of concern or care for its residents. My rent went up every year for the 4 years that I've lived in Long Beach. Every year the parking got worse (as well as crime in neighborhood).... sad because I loved it here at first.

I have lived in the 2900 block of 6th Street since the mid 1980s. Even at that time the parking was bad for renters and people without driveways.

Tenants in my building have told me that one of the reasons they moved out was due to lack of parking.

Beautiful city and a nice place for a walk but at 11pm a 3 block treck after work isn't fun

I've lived in Downtown Long beach for 14 years and the parking situation has become unbearable at this point. Besides the street parking shrinking, the high rises have taken over 2 critical parking lots since I've lived here forcing people to park on the street and racing to meters (9am-9pm including SUNDAYS and HOLIDAYS) - Having guests over is a nightmare.

Mu schedule is the worst when it comes to parking. I work in Irvine and don't get off work until 7 pm. Parking is impossible by the time I get home around 8 pm. The paid parking on the corner has been sold out for over 4 years. I have been paying anywhere from $8 to $5 a night for a parking spot. On top of that being approached by junkies who caused property damage to my car when I didn't have a cigarette (as I don't smoke) to give when asked by some random street dweller. I've become a prisoner unable to go and come as I please on the weekends when I am not working. Forget sleeping in unless I want to do absolutely nothing that day and forget going out at night unless I want to go local and uber it or have someone else drive in which I can't go home when I want. This city has always been home to me and now all I want to do is move and it is all because of the nightmare parking problems.

There is no parking after 8:00pm in the Arts district yet are still building high density high rises.

I like living in LB but honestly, I would never move back after this lease is up. The parking has been a complete headache, especially when coming home later in the afternoon. It makes simple tasks impossible. We can't enjoy the city if we can't even leave our homes in fear of losing our spot and having to circle around for an hour in hopes of finding a new spot.

Absolutely must design with parking in mind. If a business or residential complex cannot provide adequate parking, then the building needs to scrapped or redesigned to accommodate parking and traffic.
It is unbearable
