As a handicapped person, finding parking is crucial towards being able to get around and not be stuck at home.

The parking in Alamitos Beach is a nightmare. I will never live in Long Beach again if nothing gets done about the impacted parking. It has taken away quality of life when you have to drive around for an hour to find a spot 5 blocks away and get hassled by junkies and transients when walking home.

I have been followed by crackheads walking home or to my car. I'm over feeling unsafe.

I come home from work on Thursday night around 9:00 pm and I have to drive around and around the area to find parking. If I get off of work later sometimes I drive around for 45-60 minutes. And forget if I come home from work at 9pm in a Wednesday. Also why can't street cleaners clean after 9 am. Why at 4 am?? seems so outrageous!

As a full-time employee and full-time student, the time spent circling my neighborhood looking for parking severely impacts my time, often leaving me to sacrifice sleep for homework. This is in addition to the financial strain of spending extra money on gas, more frequent brake changes, and other assorted vehicle maintenance that is heightened due to frequent stop driving necessary to combing the neighborhood, street by street. I am considerably appalled that I spend my hard-earned taxes to pay the salaries of city managers that have let things get this bad.

City Fabrik also teaches us about the land use at mlk lb advocates for change . I went to their first ever people's planning school and they are doing it again now in Spanish only. I don't miss the overcrowded zones. Actually life is better staying away from events and rediscovered my own neighborhood

My partner and I live in Alamitos Beach. We just moved here from LA, and we can honestly say this is much worse than the impacted parking areas in LA because there's no permit parking in this area. We have been looking at monthly parking solutions but we're now stuck between paying for parking at the beach for a reasonable cost (~$350/year) but only between the hours of 8p-8a OR a garage with 24/7 lot access for double the price and a 25 minute walk. It's also extremely difficult to have any visitors over unless they can get here before 7pm. On top of that, I work odd hours so if I come home at 2a, I am forced to park in a red zone and having to get up at 5a to move my car to another spot to avoid ticketing. If I look for parking, I'll end up spending at least 30 mins and MAYBE find a spot that's a 30 min walk away. We've seen cars in this area get egged and damaged by others because they were trying to "save a spot" or just parked badly. It's ridiculous that parking is so bad that people are vandalizing cars. I agree with others that spot markers will help with this, but there desperately needs to be a long term solution.

Please help! It takes me 20 minutes on average to find a parking spot near my home and the closest I can get is usually 4-5 blocks away!

Recently my boyfriend and i purchased city parking permits (300$+) annually, we live off second near orange and this is truly a nightmare, residential parking permits should be enforced after certain hours.

I think someone needs to file a lawsuit against the city to stop this .

Parking in Long Beach is not an easy task. We have so many ordinances, but not enforced. How many times do you see garages used a storage space while cars are parked outside, taking precious spots for those who don't own garages. This is quickly going nowhere. Plan for parking please before this last affordable beach community is no longer.

If I come home after 7pm I am almost guaranteed to circle the blocks for 15 minutes. ANYTHING WILL HELP! Including changing the rest of the street sweeping hours to after 8am. There are still some streets with 4/5 am street sweeping.

Living in Alamitos beach, and it's already bad enough (coming home after 10pm means circling neighborhoods for additional 1-2 hours searching). Please take the time to step back and plan this correctly.
