Parking has become so impacted that it is difficult to live in Long Beach. It is not safe to park blocks away from your home and residents can't go to restaurants or even shop after work. Also you can never have friends or relatives visit. This impacted parking has happened because houses were torn down and apartments were built with little or no parking. The result is that Long Beach has become a city which people want to move away from rather than move to.

Please please please X infinity fix our parking. We should go to a resident permit only parking for residential areas of downtown. It would generate revenue with the permits, make the area safer because we will know who lives here and increase revenue at the beaches by forcing visitors to feed the meters and increase the amount of riders on public transportation generating more revenue there as well as decreasing air pollution improving our carbon footprint making Long Beach even greener environmentally. It's a win win!!

This is a serious quality of life problem and every accommodation should considered to solve this very upsetting situation. People literally drive around all night looking for parking; sleep in their cars, park miles away from where they live and often just move out of Long Beach.

Residential Parking Permits are the way to go. And maybe the city should buy some vacant lots n build parking structures.

This city shows callous disregard for quality of life issues, particularly parking. Potential new residents will not move here without sufficient parking for themselves or their visitors, which will make Suja Lowenthal's beloved Downtown Plan an abysmal failure. I have lived here more than 40 years and see city representatives' failure to communicate with residents and businesses as the primary reason there's no viable retail downtown.

I love the City of Long Beach, and I am a property owner. Please do something about this parking issue. People don't want to buy here because there is no parking when we try to sell our property. This Problem is affecting us all. It is not fare to residents that live here that can't move there cars or go anywhere because they will loose there parking because there is an event going on and people take our parking places because they don't want to pay for parking at the event.

It's time the politicians in LB start finding solutions to the parking problem NOW!!!! enough of your "studies"!!! This weekends Grand Prix did what I think the city needs to do and build a parking lot down on the beach and provide a shuttle service to pick up and drop off LB residents to their closest street corner- most would gladly pay a monthly fee knowing they have a space to park when they want to go out at night. The cities business's lose a lot of revenue because no one wants to leave once they find a parking spot when they get home from work & also it's nearly impossible to have friends over because they can't find anywhere to park- FIX THIS NOW MR MAYOR ROBERT GARCIA!!! You won't last long in office if progress is not made on this cities #1 issue!!!

I have lived in Long for 25 years. The parking situation is deplorable. It is the biggest complaint from everyone that I know that lives here. It's also a personal safety issue, especially for women that have to walk long distances in the dark. We need parking solutions in this city now!

Parking around here is a nightmare! We can't have friends or family visit, since there's nowhere for them to park. As a result, we wind up taking our business out of Long Beach! The environmental impact of hundreds of cars circling for hours every night must also be huge. Please do something before this gets worse!

Driving around for over an hour looking for parking if I have to work on weekends or until after 5, or if I am CRAZY enough to actually go somewhere after hours or on the weekends.
And if I get home in the wee hours of the morning, I have to park where ever I can, get as much sleep as I can, and find a lovely ticket on my windshield as I'm leaving for work.
One more thing: the people who park carelessly and haphazardly, taking up more than one spot, should experience consequences from authority. It's all I can do to refrain from leaving a nasty note and honestly, that's not my nature. But this parking crisis in our beautiful community has me contemplating relocation.
I miss having visitors. I miss going places. I miss coming home from work, parking my car, and going into my home where my family is having dinner. Like the old days. When there was a place to park my car after work...
